About the Race
In September 2024, members of the Trumeter UK office completed the Bury 10K to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal charity. Despite heavy rain battering runners throughout the event, they successfully crossed the finish line, raising £300 for the cause.
The race began at The Rock, in the heart of Bury’s town centre, before weaving its way through the borough, including an ascent to Tottington. Runners then looped back, passing some of the most scenic landmarks in the area, such as the local nature reserve and the picturesque Kirklees Trail. However, the relentless downpours left parts of the route muddy and slippery, testing the grit and determination of participants.
About the Cause
The Jane Tomlinson Appeal, named after the late athlete and fundraiser, supports children’s and cancer charities across the UK. The team was inspired to contribute to this impactful cause, knowing their efforts would make a difference.
The team’s efforts garnered support from colleagues, helping them reach their fundraising goal of £300.
A Celebration of Community and Resilience
The Bury 10K brought together runners from all walks of life, united by a shared determination to overcome adversity and make a positive impact. For Steven, Chris, and Michael, it was a day of resilience, camaraderie, and community spirit.
As they crossed the finish line drenched but triumphant, the Trumeter trio celebrated their accomplishment. Their effort not only raised money for a deserving cause but also highlighted the power of teamwork and perseverance in the face of challenges.
