We believe everyone has a useful contribution to make so we promote honest input and a willing exchange of ideas. This ensures that opposing viewpoints are revealed to help guard against “groupthink” which can cause blindness to potential problems and resistance to new ideas.
We reject the common perception that all conflict is negative. We believe a healthy amount of ego-less workplace debate within an inclusive environment with mutual respect is valuable to the growth of both the company and the individual, and results in better business decisions. We recognize the difference between healthy debate and dysfunctional argument and the behaviors associated with both.
In our lunch and learn program we raised awareness of the importance of embracing healthy debate company wide, and we have adopted a framework to give everyone the tools to address negative issues in a constructive way to deliver a productive outcome.
